Il traverse Carentan en allant voir les travaux du port de Cherbourg.<\/p>\n<p>C&rsquo;est Carentan qu&rsquo;il choisit comme cadre de sa nouvelle <em>Le R\u00e9quisitionnaire<\/em>, publi\u00e9e en 1831.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" aligncenter size-full wp-image-2194\" src=\"https:\/\/terresdecrivains.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/jpg_balzaccarentan2def.jpg\" alt=\"balzaccarentan2def.jpg\" width=\"405\" height=\"260\" align=\"middle\" srcset=\"https:\/\/terresdecrivains.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/jpg_balzaccarentan2def.jpg 405w, https:\/\/terresdecrivains.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/jpg_balzaccarentan2def-300x193.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 405px) 94vw, 405px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>C&rsquo;est l&rsquo;histoire de la noble Mme de Dey qui, en 1793, attend dans sa maison la visite secr\u00e8te de son fils, un chef chouan. Toute la ville est \u00e0 l&rsquo;aff\u00fbt.
